More info

Elephants Living in Sanctuary is the 2nd edition of the hardcover book featuring over 200 elephant photographs taken by Sangduen ‘Lek’ Chailert, founder of Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary for elephants in northern Thailand. The photographs taken at the park over the past seven years capture the playful often comical antics of the elephants living there as well as show the complex relationships that exist between them. Lek's photographs reveal a fascinating world where the intelligence, complexity, tenderness, and sense of humour of elephants are joyfully apparent. Captions accompany the photos and chronicle the lives of many of the elephants and their journey to Elephant Nature Park, where often for the first time they experience kindness from humans and are allowed the freedom to roam the expanse of the park and interact naturally. It is hoped that the book will give some insight into the remarkable nature of these majestic animals and that people will come to empathise with their plight in a modern world. The Asian elephant is an endangered species, and one whose life in captivity is often one of daily suffering. The book was written by Scott and designed by Kristin. It is a hardcover book, measuring 9 x 9 inches and is printed on gloss paper. The book will be professionally packed to ensure safe arrival.
